Priyanka Chopra‘s claim to fame in Hollywood – Quantico, did pretty well in its season one. But since the time it has returned for its much talked about second season, it’s not been able to match up to the desired ratings it was expected to generate. Unlike here in India, the studios there are pretty strict when it comes to the performances of its shows. According to a report in leading Hollywood website, In order to get more viewers and better ratings for its lower performing shows like Quantico, ABC (the network it airs on) has shifted the slot from Sundaynights to Monday nights. The said changes will be reflected once the show returns after the winter break from January 23, 2017 onwards. The writing team of the show broke the news on Twitter stating, “We will see your faces on Monday nights at 10 pm starting January 23rd. New night. More intense than ever. #quantico.”
The show’s rating since its return hasn’t been good and has failed to do above a 1.0 in Live+Same Day ratings. The November 27 episode only did a 0.7 rating and that was a big mid season finale. This change of slot means the show will not be competing with Sunday Night Football and shows airing on networks like AMC and HBO. Now Quantico will be competing with Timeless and Scorpion, among others. The only reason for Qauntico to have worked despite its dipping ratings is the presence of Priyanka Chopra as its lead star. Hopefully, the move will help Quantico to get better ratings. While a lot of people are recording episodes of TV programs and watching them later, live numbers are still the most valuable for the major networks. Hopefully, Quantico will keep on pushing out new episodes for some time to come.
